I'm Baaack :)

Aloha Boardies!

Thank you Trevina for monitoring the Board while I was out of town.

I had the most marvelous vacation! I met my half sister for the first time. It was a joyously tearful reunion, and we left feeling that yes, we were long lost sisters.
I spent most of my time with my daughter Lisa and her family. I played endlessly with my grandson George, who is six. He lost a baby tooth while we were in a restaurant. I watched him played T-ball, it was so adorable.
Every morning I was blessed to go to the ashram for mediation. Beyond words great.

So now I'm back, have laundry and homework to do today. It was the best Spring Break I could have ever asked for. I am so grateful to my Guru, to God and the Universe for giving me this very special week.

love you, ~R

not centered...

aloha rose! i hope all went well with your visit. i am happy meditation went well, too. T, it's always good to feel your presence here.

i have, once again, allowed myself to get off-centered. it's like i don't notice that my life is spinning in the wrong direction until it's too late. and it becomes such an effort to get back on course. spiritually, i'm at a 35%. i feel really out of it. why do i allow myself to get so out of focus?

there are some great things going on in my life. but i know that if i don't get grounded spiritually, these things will fall to the wayside. am i making things more difficult for myself? lol...

peace and light and love-

Pray for recovery!

All,

A terrible and unusual act of anger occurred in my neighborhood Sunday morning at 5am. One person was brutally beaten and murdered. There was one survivor, a woman, who was also beaten and left for dead. Pray that she survives and is able to identify her attacker and the poor mans killer.

Beyond The Ordinary

"Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head."

~Mark Twain

Attention

Attention

"If you spend a lot of time thinking about your problems, they'll grow bigger and stronger. Is that what you want? Of course not! Instead, focus on your goals. Start your day with them at the front of your mind, and use notes to recall them strategically throughout your day." ~Les Brown
Affirmation
It is my intention to pay attention to God.

Thoughts are things :-)

Dreams

Dreams

"You create continually with your thoughts. You can create basically the same life with very little difference over and over again, year after year. You can experience the same life relentlessly, with a little different color to it, a slightly altered texture. Or you can co-create with God, moving confidently in the direction of your dreams."

~Mary Manin Morrissey quote is taken from: Building Your Field of Dreams

The gift...

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant...We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."

Albert Einstein.

Dear God:

The lady reading this is beautiful, classy and strong, and I love her.

Help her live her life to the fullest. Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations. Help her shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love. Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs you the most, and let her know when she walks with You, She will always be safe.

Love you Girl.

Abandon anger, Be done with conceit, Get beyond every fetter.

When for name and form You have no attachment--have nothing at all--no sufferings, no stresses, invade.

-Dhammapada 17, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu

The first Nobel Truth is that there is suffering in the world. The second Noble Truth is that the cause of auffering is attachment.

We understand the truth spoken here. Love, higher love, without attachment does no harm.

Change

"Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken."~Frank Herbert

Affirmation
I embrace change easily and without fear.

Meditation
Dear God,
Everything is evolving, unfolding and becoming. My life is not the same as it was yesterday, and thank You it will not be the same tomorrow. I move from good to greater good. Conditions in the outer world may change, but Your presence is constant and sure. Amen

Power of Words - The message I got twice today!

“Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself, or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.”

~Don Miguel Ruiz quote is taken from: The Four Agreements

Speak not harshly to anyone. Those thus addressed will retort. Painful, indeed, is vindictive speech. Blows in exchange may bruise you. If, like a cracked gong, you silence yourself, you have already attained Nibbana: no vindictiveness will be found in you
.-Dhammapada 133-134

I was VERY careful with my speech today. One of the precepts in Buddhism is Right Speech. Much easier said than done, especially in traffic.

Buddha

There are four bases of sympathy: charity, kind speech, doing a good turn, and treating all alike.

Beloved of God - Og Mandino

"Be proud. You are not the momentary whim of a careless creator experimenting in the laboratory of life. You are not a slave of forces that you cannot comprehend. You are a free manifestation of no force but mine, of no love but mine. You were made with a purpose. Feel my hand. Hear my words. You need me and I need you. We have a world to rebuild...and if it requires a miracle what is that to us? We are both miracles and now we have each other."

~Og Mandino quote is taken from: The Greatest Miracle in the World

I read The Greatest Miracle in the World about 20 years. You've got to read it, it's a small but life, love affirming book.

Hello God

Hello God,

A new day and week stretch before me. There are many events carefully entered in my calendar; meetings and project deadlines; birthdays and reminders of significant events; and prayer requests from people near and far.
No matter how carefully I plan, the week will be as it will be. The only thing of which I am certain is that You are present in each moment. I lean into the unknown, knowing that You are with me. Help me be open and fully available for love and for life. Help me shine with Your light--always and in all ways. I love life and life loves me! So be it.

Amen

Questions

"Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after."

~Henry David Thoreau

Affirmation
I take a fresh look at everything.

Meditation
Dear God,There are times when we get so focused on a specific outcome or course of action that we can miss the larger picture. May your love shine away our assumptions and reveal the Truth. Help us honestly examine every aspect of our lives and eliminate any thing or idea that does not serve. Help us take a fresh look at ourselves and our world. Thank You for the willingness to question and the courage to change. Amen

Buddhist Wisdom

Whatever living beings there may be--feeble or strong, small or large, seen or unseen,
those who live far or those near, those who are born and those who are yet to be born--

may all beings, without exception, experience a happy mind.

Let one not deceive another nor despise any person whatever in any place.

In anger or ill will let one not wish any harm to another.

Let one's thoughts of boundless love pervade the whole world without any obstruction, without any hatred, without any enmity.

Dhammapada

Through the round of many births I roamed without reward,

without rest, seeking the house-builder.

Painful is birth again & again. House-builder, you're seen!

You will not build a house again.A ll your rafters broken, the ridge pole destroyed, gone to the Unformed, the mind has come to the end of craving.

-Dhammapada, 11, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.

More on Breathing Practice

"'I am breathing in and making my whole body calm and at peace.

I am breathing out and making my whole body calm and at peace.'

This is how one practices."

-The Sutra on Full Awareness of Breathing

Mindfulness with Breathing

If we train our breathing, we can control our emotions--

that is, we can cope with the happiness and pain in our lives.

We should practice until we feel this; our practice is not complete until we can see this clearly.

-Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, "Mindfulness with Breathing

Ghandi

"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony."
~Mahatma Gandhi

Affirmation
My life is peaceful and harmonious.

Meditation
Mother/Father God, There is an underlying harmony and rhythm that flows throughout the universe. As we quiet our minds and listen with our hearts,we resonate with this great peace. We concentrate on the ebb and flow of our breathing and find that our rhythm matches the universal rhythm. Thank You for the harmony that expresses itself through us now. Amen

Universal Love

"Love all God's creation, both the whole and every grain of sand. Love every leaf, every ray of light. Love the animals, love the plants, love each separate thing. If you love each thing, you will perceive the mystery of God in all; and when once you perceive this, you will from that time on grow every day to a fuller understanding of it until you come at last to love the whole world with a love that will then be all-embracing and universal."

~Feodor Dostoevski

Affirmation
I behold all things with respect and reverence.

Dalai Lama on Compassion

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

If you want to be happy, practice compassion.

Happy March

Hiya my precious Ones

I've been missing the blog because I am so busy. I apologize for my absence. I was also sick for almost two weeks and have a lot of school work to catch up on.

My TV show aired again and I've been getting calls and email from NY, NE, NC, VA, CA and here...I'm sure I left some out.

I am planning a trip to visit my kids in Cali, supporting a soldier overseas, holding hands and drying tears, helping drug addicts.

My life is so huge and wonderful today, I am so grateful and so blessed. I've been cranky though...any advice for me?

I love you a LOT....Rose
