Meditation

Rose, I've been trying to meditate daily. I'm not really good at it yet, but I will keep on trying. If you have any suggestions on how you managed to master meditation, would appreciate some hints. I'm still seeing a blank when I meditate. haha I'll keep on trying to see if I improve. Thanks for any advice.

Aloha RoseAnne

Mastering meditation is accomplished by years of practice. What are you hoping to see?
Meditation is like physical exercise for the thoughts. Holding on to a sound, or a serious of sounds by repetition of that sound(s) and focusing on your inhalation and exchalation. Breathe in a sound, exhale a sound. Thinking only of that. This conditions the mind and increases the space between the thoughts. In that space between the thoughts we have peace and flashes of enlightened awareness.
Comprende querida?

Rose, thanks. On very infrequent occasions, inspiration has hit. What am I hoping to see? Rather than seeing, I'm waiting to hear something from God. I really think I have my own answer, I'm probably impatient and must continue meditating. As a beginner, it seems "sooo long" when you are in the silence, time goes very slowly. It's a hard transition from the fast lane of life to sit silently and meditate. But, I'll keep trying.

Hi Roseanne

I enjoy the meditations where there is a sense of lost time. When you're meditating then look at the clock and a hour has passed and it feels like 15 minutes. That happens too.
Meditation is not easy, that is why you see the word self-discipline associated with it. It is very rewarding though, the extended periods of serenity are priceless. Keep at it.
