Buddhist Wisdom

Not to be reached by traveling is the end of the world, Yet there is no release from sorrow Unless you reach the end of the world. The one who is wise and lives a loving life Begins to know the world. That one will go to the worlds end. And then he will neither long for this world Nor for any world.

Happy Halloween!

Chekhov was funny?

Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.

Dalai Lama

Spirituality I take to be concerned with those qualities of the human spirit—such as love and compassion, patience, a sense of responsibility, a sense of harmony, which bring happiness to both self and others.

Spiritual Service

“Our neighbor is anyone who needs assistance, whether friend or stranger. We cannot expect to correct all the ills of the world but we can help the people with whom we come in contact. This is our spiritual service.”

~Elizabeth Sand Turner

A Note to "God"

Dear God,

You have created me as a unique light in this world.
It is my honor and privilege to let that light shine brightly in all that I do.
Even if there is no outer acknowledgement of my spiritual activity,
I give all of my best efforts to the task before me.
You have made me a light to give that light to my world, and I am grateful.
Thank You, God!
Amen

Buddhist Wisdom

A hundred thousand worlds are flowers in the sky, a single mind and body is moonlight in the water; once the cunning ends and information stops, at that moment there is no place for thought.

Lesson from a Gutter

One day as I was meditating, I saw a rusty gutter, and I suddenly felt sad and sorry that it was going bad and rusty. I experienced that life was impermanent. I learned Dharma from that gutter.

You might be asking "Where Are MY Blessings?!"

I can't begin to explain how deeply grateful I am to acknowledge, feel, experience and know that the painful moments in life are a Blessing.

I love you. ~R

My Spiritual Awakening - this week

I had a spiritual awakening this week and I want to share my lesson with you.
When something happens to you that you think is bad say to yourself, "This is my blessing", for blessings come as both sunshine and thunderstorms. God's hand is in everything.

I love you very much.

Buddha Nature

Those who have spent ten or twenty years brushing aside the weeds looking for the way and yet have not see the buddha nature often say they are trapped by oblivion and excitement. What they don't realize is that the substance of this very oblivion and excitement is itself buddha nature.
